Look behind the cheeky smile
and tell me what
you really see.
Can you see inside here,
how reluctance sits by keen?
That love and loathing share
a space
with selflessness and greed?
Do you see the puzzle pieces
scattered all about?
Little bits of life and death
truth and fiction
quiet and loud,
Does the light shine on the dark
or is it eaten by that cloud?
Many questions I would ask
if you would but come look with me.
Help me find the bits and pixels,
all that stuff I cannot see.
Tell me where the dark came from;
show me where the light turns on.
Enough! Enough! I ask too much:
your presence near is all I need,
So will you come into my void
and share this nothingness with me?
